Prep and season shrimp
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Cook shrimp
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then remove and set aside.
Make honey garlic glaze
- In the same pan, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then add honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes and stir.
- Simmer the sauce for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened, then return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat.
Serve
- Serve immediately over rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Notes
For the best glossy coating, keep the glaze at a gentle simmer until it looks slightly syrupy, then return shrimp and toss briefly to avoid overcooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low until warmed through. Freezing is not recommended because shrimp can become rubbery after thawing. For a low-carb option, serve over steamed broccoli instead of rice.
